Interactive Tokens

Tokens that do more than just sit on a map.

More Than Just Circles on a Grid

In a lot of VTTs, tokens are just images you drag around. In FreeVTT, tokens are connected to everything. Attach a character sheet to a token and you've got a fully interactive game piece. Click it to see stats, roll attacks, track HP, manage spells, the works.

It's the way tokens should work. You click on a goblin and see its stat block right there. A player clicks on their character and they can roll attacks, check their spell slots, see their inventory. Everything is connected.

Player Token Assignment

As the GM, you can mark any token as a "player token." When players join your hosted game, they can see which tokens are available and claim theirs. Once a player is assigned to a token, they can move it, interact with the character sheet, and roll dice directly from it.

This keeps things organized. The GM doesn't have to manage everyone's movement. Players just grab their token and go. It's collaborative the way tabletop games should be.

HP, AC, and Conditions

Tokens display HP and AC right on the map, so you can see at a glance who's hurt and who's holding up fine. Conditions like "Poisoned" or "Stunned" show up as indicators on the token too, so nobody forgets that the fighter is grappled.

Adjusting HP is quick. Click the token, adjust the number, done. No opening separate windows or switching to a different panel. The token is the interface for everything about that character or creature.

Roll From the Sheet

Character sheets in FreeVTT aren't just reference cards. They're interactive. Click on a weapon attack and it rolls the d20 plus your modifier. Click on a saving throw and it rolls. Click on a skill check and it rolls. Pretty much anything you'd roll for has a clickable button.

All the dice results go to the dice log so everyone can see them. It's fast, it's accurate, and it means players don't have to figure out which dice to roll and what to add. FreeVTT handles the math.

Resize and Customize

Tokens can be different sizes, from tiny creatures to huge dragons that take up a 3x3 grid space. Upload custom art for each token so your players can tell at a glance who's who on the battlefield.

Between the character sheets, the dice integration, the custom art, and the player assignment, tokens in FreeVTT are probably the most complete feature. And yeah, it's all free.
